Five Most Common Causes of Kidney Stone

There are a few things you can do to lower your risk of developing kidney stones. Drink plenty of fluids, especially water, to stay hydrated and prevent stone-forming minerals from concentrating in your urine. Eat a healthy diet that includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Avoid foods high in oxalates, such as spinach, chocolate, and peanuts. Limit your intake of animal protein, salt, and sugar. And if you have a history of kidney stones, your doctor may recommend medications or other treatments to help prevent new stones from forming.

If you have kidney stone symptoms, talk to your urologist for possible treatment or kidney stone removal options.
